How to Set Up a Switch Account

Learn how to configure mutual device control between partners, enabling both users to control each other's devices without a fixed dominant/submissive hierarchy.

A switch account allows you and your partner to control each other's devices bidirectionally. Unlike the standard top/bottom configuration, neither partner is locked into a single role—both can take control at any time.

Prerequisites

Before setting up a switch account, ensure:

  • Both partners have existing accounts
  • You already have a standard partner connection established (one partner controls the other)
  • Access to the Settings > Partners section in your dashboard

Set up mutual control

Navigate to partner settings

Log into your account and go to Settings > Partners. You'll see your existing partner connection where you can control their devices.

Create a new invitation

Click to create a new invitation to your existing partner. Instead of requesting control of their devices, select Give them access to my devices.

Send the invitation

Click Send. Your partner will receive an email with a link to accept the invitation.

Partner accepts the invitation

Your partner clicks the email link, which takes them to Settings > Partners. They'll see a notification that you want to give them access to your devices. They click Accept.

After accepting, both partners can now control and modify each other's devices.

Verify mutual control

Both partners should now see the account switcher in the top-left corner of the dashboard. Each partner can switch between controlling their own account and their partner's account.

The account switcher in the top-left corner lets you quickly toggle between controlling your devices and your partner's devices.
