Follow this step-by-step guide to connect your Chastity Lockbox to Wi-Fi and enable remote control from the dashboard.
Using automatic Bluetooth pairing? You can skip this guide entirely — WiFi setup is handled for you during the pairing process. See Pairing Your Lockbox to get started.
Video Walkthrough
Watch this quick tutorial to see the complete Wi-Fi setup process in action.
What You'll Need
- A fully charged Lockbox
- A smartphone or laptop
- Access to a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network (5 GHz networks are not supported)
The Lockbox only supports 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi networks. If your router broadcasts both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands, make sure you connect to the 2.4 GHz network.
Setup Instructions
Open Wi-Fi settings on your Lockbox
Power on your Lockbox and navigate to Settings → Wi-Fi Settings.
The Lockbox will create a temporary network called Lockbox Setup and display a QR code on screen.
Connect to the Lockbox network
On your phone or laptop, either:
- Scan the QR code displayed on the Lockbox, or
- Manually connect to the Lockbox Setup network in your device's Wi-Fi settings
Configure your Wi-Fi credentials
A configuration portal will automatically open—similar to connecting to Wi-Fi at a coffee shop or library.
- Select Configure Wi-Fi
- Choose your 2.4 GHz home network from the list
- Enter your Wi-Fi password
- Tap Save
The Lockbox will receive your credentials and attempt to connect.
Verify the connection
Once connected, the Lockbox will display a Wi-Fi icon with full signal bars.
If you see full Wi-Fi bars with no line through them, your Lockbox is successfully connected to the internet.
You may notice a small dot beneath the Wi-Fi icon. This indicates sync status and will be covered in a future guide.
Next Steps
Now that your Lockbox is connected to Wi-Fi, you're ready to pair it with your dashboard for remote control. Continue to the next step in the quick start guide.
0:00 Today I'm going to show you in a step-by-step guide how to connect your lockbox to the internet so you can receive settings from the dashboard.
0:08 What you're going to need is a charged lockbox and either a cell phone or a laptop. I'm going to use my cell phone today.
0:16 So on my lockbox, I'm going to go down into settings, once it's powered on, and I'm going to find the Wi-Fi settings option.
0:24 Clicking that—this is going to create a network called Lockbox Setup, which I can join by either scanning this QR code or just looking for the network on my device.
0:37 I'm going to do that option. Perfect.
0:57 I'll join that network. And just like joining a Wi-Fi network at a library or coffee shop, it'll launch a configuration portal where I can click Configure Wi-Fi.
1:10 And I can choose a 2.4 gigahertz network.
1:21 In this case, it is my personal network, Treehouse 2.4G. Right, I've entered my password, and now I'm going to hit Save.
1:34 This will send these credentials to the device, and as long as it can connect to the internet, we'll see a restart over here on the lockbox.
1:42 Perfect. And in fact, it did connect with no restart, so that is awesome to see things worked as expected. Now, you'll also notice, underneath this Wi-Fi icon, there is a small dot.
1:55 In the future, we'll talk about what that dot means. For now, all you care about is seeing that there are full Wi-Fi bars.
2:02 There's no line through it. If this is the case, then you've successfully connected to Wi-Fi. In future videos, I'll show you how to pair this to the dashboard.
2:10 But that's it for now. Thank you.
